I've been curious about a site for a scene in the original Bad News Bears. The scene where Buttermaker takes the team to clean a pool. The pool is an in ground pool that is on top of a hill (judging from the view). I'd like to know if it is a house in Woodland Hills. Thanks!
Have youever found the location of the house? Im very curious about the currant view.Delete
So far no luck. It will hopefully turn up some day.Delete
The house where the team clean the pool is at 16916 Encino Hills Dr, EncinoDelete
There are some great photos here
Interesting. That address is right up the street from the drug dealers house in "Boogie Nights". (Sadly, Rahad's house was demolished this year, an enormous McMansion going up in it's place.)Delete
I am new to this site & I am a huge fan of Beverly Hills 90210 & I am also old enough to remember it. I was just curious could u plz see if u can find the real life high school of Shaw High School on Beverly Hills 90210 its the episode called Home and Away plz & tyDelete
The house with the pool will be very difficult to find from Bad News Bears but maybe some day I will get a tip.ReplyDelete
Filming locations for Dutch will be down the road someday because a lot of the movie is not filmed in Chicago. Through time hopefully things will be found.
Do you know the location of the Meet the parents house?ReplyDelete
The house was in New YorkDelete
Yes, I got it narrowed down to Old Brookville, but have not been able to locate it yet.Delete
Do you know the location of the baysitting house in the 1979 version of When a stranger calls? I read somewhere that it was somewhere in the Brentwood section of LA.ReplyDelete
I don't know where the When A Stranger Calls house is yet. I have been searching for a long time with no luck. Either the house has changed a lot or it is not really in the Brentwood area after all.ReplyDelete
Hi Chas! LOVE the site!! Just wanted to request you find some locations in Uptown Whittier, CA.ReplyDelete
Also La Habra Heights, CA. and Friendly Hills, Whittier, CA. I would totally work for you if you ever need an extra hand!!
John in San Bernadino.
I would like to know where the basketball court in the opening credits of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" is located. Any idea on where this is?
Hi, Chas! Do you happen to know the movie location where Laura Brown's house is in "The Hours"? I love that neighborhood, and I've looked around in L.A. trying to find something similar without any luck. Thanks! Oh, and Gilmore Girls is one of my all-time favorite shows also.ReplyDelete
Anything on the movie of Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Especially the school gym. Is it Paul Revere Middle School?ReplyDelete
I know it's not Chicago or LA or even Indiana but if you were looking for a great movie to track down I would love to see some locations for Elizabethtown. It's one of my favorite movies with great Northern Kentucky and Southern Indiana scenes.ReplyDelete
And we can't wait for you to come to Bloomington for some Breaking Away work! If you haven't thought about it yet and you get stuck you might want to check out the old newspaper articles the Indiana Room in the public library has. :) Good luck! Love the site!
I actually had a college class with the woman who owned the main house used in Elizabethtown. She had mentioned she got a large sum of money and I nosily asked how and she said it was because of all the filming they did there. I am almost positive she lived in Altadena, although it could have been North Pasadena (north of the 210 freeway). IIRC she also mentioned they liked her location because there was a lot of open land nearby. I haven't seen the movie, and can't give mush more help, but maybe that will give you a lead looking at online maps :)
Hi Sara, maybe some day down the road I will get to that movie. My main goal right now is to finish off Chicago hopefully by the end of the summer while still throwing in more LA locations. Thanks for asking.ReplyDelete
Murder by numbers?ReplyDelete
Hi Chas. Amazing site you have here. Very very helpful and thorough.ReplyDelete
Sent you an email 3/3 (using the gmail address on this site) re. your activities (going into more detail than a form like this is appropriate for, I guess). (Hoping it didn't go in a spam folder.)
I do the same mass movie-location touring thing as you - but for NY, SF, DC and Chicago so far (it's like fun detective work, and I've gotten good at it over the last 2 years). If you want to converse by email, welcomed by me.
Keep up the good work.

Hey - "Public Enemies" is missing the Paramount Theater in Aurora for one of the scenes, fyi.ReplyDelete
Will you be documenting new movies filmed and coming up? The "Devil in the White City" is in the works now and I am excited about this since it was such an excellent book and I am from Chicago....
what is the name of bill's condo/apartment in the final battle of kill bill 2. That place was freaking awesome.ReplyDelete
It was in a resort called Costa Careyes, on the coast of Mexico, about 165 miles south of Puerto Vallarta.Delete
You are the Man!! Sounds strange, but I was always curious about this subject and tour locations when in LA. The Paramount tour is great. Do you know the address of the "Barry Williams home" that was filmed in "growing up Brady"? How in the world did you track this Brady bunch stuff down? Do you know someone from the original filming?ReplyDelete
I have never seen Growing Up Brady but I will try to look at it for you to see if I can help you out. To answer your other question, I did a lot of research and got a tad bit of help from Lloyd Schwartz too.ReplyDelete
If you ever have the chance, you should visit the boston area! Great movies with great locations. Witched of Eastwick, The Proposal, Edge of Darkness, Ghost of Girlfriends Past, Knight and Day, Mystic River, The Verdict etc....really interesting! Do you have any locations from Encino man, or Click?ReplyDelete
Hi Chas. Just wanted to say how much I like your site! One thing: in the American Pie locations you said you couldn't locate the restaurant that Oz works at (where he makes a sandwich for Heather). Have you found that yet or are still looking?ReplyDelete
Hi Chas. Love your site. I'm a big Charmed fan. I just left the following comment about the county jail in Episode 15:ReplyDelete
Re Episode 15 at the "California County Jail." I believe this is the receiving entrance at the old Sybil Brand Institute for Women, 4500 East City Terrace Drive, Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA. The camera shots were taken behind a wall and gate and thus cannot be seen from the street, though the outside of the wall and gate can be seen. I recognize this from other movie and TV shows this location has been used for, including the 1976 TV movie Helter Skelter. This was actually the place where Manson family member Susan Atkins was held prior to her trial on the Sharon Tate murder case. According to the Wikipedia article, it ceased being uses in the 1990s. It appears the facility is used for other purposes now as many police cars (county sheriff's deputies?) can be seen in Google Earth.
Hi, I would like to know where the show Pretty little liars is filmed :)ReplyDelete

I travelled from Australia to LA and hunted down Matrix (schwarzenegger's house) in Mt Baldy. See my youtube video below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvVwA0VtzNoDelete
I'm from the Netherlands and I was looking for the shooting locations for the movie Body Double (1984), which I was extremely happy to find here on your site. Then I also saw that you've the locations of Back To The Future, Breakdown and several other great movies of the 80's/90's. I wanted to suggest two movies that I really would like to see the shooting locations of:
- The Terminator (1984) [ I know this ons has been covered by someone else before, but it could be nice to get even better pictures of all the locations used at the time ]
- Death Wish 2 (1981)
I really look forward to seeing them some time.
Compliment for the site!
Thank you for the site. I'm looking for the LA filming locations from "The Late Show" (1977) with Art Carney. Most of the addresses named in the movie are fake so your help in finding the real locations would be much appreciated. There's a bench advertising The Hollywood Wax Museum that also appears in "Breathless" (1983).
Love your site! Any suggestions for Motels that would let us film an ultra-low budget indie film in Los Angeles/San Fernando area? Thanks!ReplyDelete
A good person to ask is a man named Mike Flores from the website MovieshotsLA. It is on one of my links on the left hand side of my home page. He is a new location manager and knows Los Angeles real well. Send him an e-mail and tell him I referred you to him. Let me know on here if he helped. If not I will try to help you but I live in Indiana so he is best to try first. His e-mail is on his website but it is email@example.com
I have 2 locations I'm trying to find for my upcoming trip to Los Angeles. I would like to see the house that Melissa Rycroft and her husband Tye lived in on the 2012 TV series Melissa and Tye on CMT. I have also desperately been trying to find the location of the bank robbing scene in Point Break. The 1st bank robbing scene where Utah is getting Papas the Meatball Subs outside when the Ex-Presidents roll up and run into the bank. Thanks!ReplyDelete
Hi Jay, I see Lindsay via our friend Owen helped you with the Point Break location. I am not finding any info on the other location yet. If I do I will let you know. Sorry I was no help so far.Delete
Did you find the house yet?Delete
Hi, For the movie "About Last Night". You mention the cafeteria where Demi and Robb talk called "The Swallow" was demolished. What was the location or corner? I'm planning a trip to Chicago in three weeks and I would love to photograph whatever is there in its' place. Many thanks, Christian firstname.lastname@example.orgReplyDelete
Hello, if I had to make an educated guess I would say the cross street would have to be Polk Street or very close to it. There have been some buildings added there and one kind of blocks the view of the Sears Tower. I hope that helps.Delete
Hello, and GREAT SITE! Very easy to view and love the comparison pictures. I was wondering if you can find the filming location for the TV SHOW "Highland Park" mainly the house they live in. Thank you. Again great site! You can reach me at email@example.comReplyDelete

Any idea where the office building from Workaholics is? I know they film in Van Nuys & North Hollywood a lot but can't find the office building anywhere!ReplyDelete
Hello, I have never seen the show. Could you send me a couple of screen shots. I will try to figure it out from there.Delete
I only have the bluray so I can't do screen caps on my computer but I was able to find a couple online. In the commentary they said they write the episodes there and it's a real office. All of their other locations are up in the valley around Van Nuys-ish area.Delete
Thanks so much for your help!
The Office for the hit TV comedy series,"Workaholics?" Is located off the 405 freeway. Take the SHERMAN WAY exit and turn right/Left. Till you hit SEPULVEDA BLVD, and make a right. Till you hit RAYMER ST, turn left. Then make a right on, NOBEL AVE, follow the road then turns into, LEMONA AVE. Drive about 300 feet and building is located on the left side of the street on the corner on the right side of Target. First building on left side of street. Across from Target. I worked for UPS and always delivered to their location. Met and shook a few hands along with some souvenirs. Van Nuys, CaDelete
I've seen a YouTube video of the fire station known as Station 51 from the TV series "Emergency." I don't remember seeing much else relating to that show, however. The video was fascinating, and featured a tour of Station 127 (the LACO Fire Station used for the show). The station still looks pretty much like it did on TV, with a few exceptions (modern phone system, flat-screen TV, and seperate dressing area for females on the job. I'd like to see pictures of locations in the LA area that were used in the show. Thanks! (David in Alabama)ReplyDelete
I thought about working on that show but it took place so long ago that so much has changed since filming. But I have been told there is someone working on either a book or a website for the series. Stay tuned.Delete

Love your site! One of my favorite movies is tim burton's Ed Wood. I've been dying to see the "larchmont studios / quality stages" in person but I can't find it anywhere. Any idea where it might be? My guess is somewhere in downtown LA. I've also attached a screen cap from the flick. Any help would be great, thanks!!!ReplyDelete
Hi, thank you for the compliment. I knew of that building seen in the background but could not place it. I asked a couple of my friends for help and Robert found it for you. The building in the background is on the Northeast corner of Hollywood Blvd and Cahuenga Blvd. The spot you want is in an alley east of Cahuenga looking North.Delete
Your site is awesome!!ReplyDelete
They say North by Northwest was filmed in the Chicago area. Do you know of any accessible sites?

Tried to enter a comment on your Spellbinder page. I saw something interesting in regards to the gas station from that movie your looking for. Might be a match.ReplyDelete
Hi, I wonder why it would not let you do a comment. Leave it here if that is better. I will see it.Delete
On your page for the Hudsucker Proxy, you mentioned the Movie Tourist Website. I was checking it out, and on that page, for the movie Miracle Mile, it shows a gas station. Which has some similarities to the gas station your trying to track down. Especially the vertical bars in the window. Might be the same one?ReplyDelete
"All The Right Moves" would be a great get! Although I know the location is not one you are familiar with and there is likely a large portion of the scenes where the structures have been torn down? Just a guess...thanks for providing the site...it is GREAT!!!ReplyDelete
Did you think that gas station matched the one you have been looking for?ReplyDelete
No I don't think it is the right place. A couple of things don't line up. I will have a couple of my friends go there and see what they think. You may be right though. Thanks for letting me know about the location.Delete
Yeah, wasnt sure. I went to the Movie Tourist Web Site, from your link. There, I looked at the locations for Miracle Mile, and the gas station there. The similarities I see are the shape of the main office, and the vertical bars in the window.ReplyDelete
could you find the filming locations for Robocop 2ReplyDelete
Are there any locations for abandoned houses or abandoned-looking houses?ReplyDelete
Do you know where Marcellus Wallace's house is?ReplyDelete
Howdy! I need a police precinct interior. It can be old or new and small. Any ideas? Our budget is extremely low...like $200 low :( .ReplyDelete
Hello, I really have no clue. I look for past filming locations. Where are you looking? LA or Chicago?Delete
I wonder if you have seen the movie "A Guide for the Married Man" from 1967, I was wondering about the location of residences of Walter Matthau and Carl Reiner in that movie.
I only know that it's in LA.
At the beginning of the movie "Code of Silence" there's a view of Chicago with some skyscrapers and a train on a bridge, do you know the exact location? I have a pic but it's in low quality, anyway it's the very first shot of the movie: http://oi44.tinypic.com/t0sps0.jpg
Thanks in advance and congratulations for the website.
I really enjoy your blog. I was wondering if you knew of a movie shot at the university of chicago laboratory schools in hyde park, chicago. I think that it was shot in the 60's and was about a high school romance.
One Chicago-filmed movie I love but don't see listed is Surviving Christmas. Would love to see the Chicago locations identified.ReplyDelete
Regarding the Brady Bunch, do you know which entrance to the Grand Canyon they used and where the overlook area along the road is located that they used (the one where they peered over the Grand Canyon)? Also, are the mule rides still available? Our family is planning a trip to the Grand Canyon and would love to follow in the Bradys' steps.ReplyDelete

Hi Chas, I would like to know where the Eugene's hairdressing salon from LT Columbo episode "Lady in Waiting" is located; the area is in LA, I think North Hollywood.ReplyDelete
I just posted some more details about the Beach House in The Road to Perdition in that section. It's now a public park and anyone can visit. There is a sign with info about the house and the movie there. Check it out.ReplyDelete
I was wondering if you have any info on a Chicago-based movie called "Touch And Go"? Stars Michael Keaton as a hockey player and Maria Concito Alanzo, from about 1984 or so. Thanks!ReplyDelete
There is an Indiana movie called "Falling From Grace" starring and directed by John Mellencamp, shot mostly in Seymour, Indiana. It might be fun to find out where these places are. Thanks! Great site!ReplyDelete
The Monitors, a 1969 U.S. satirical science fiction film shot in Chicago, was the first film production of Second City and was coproduced and financed by Bell and Howell in an effort to promote Chicago as a film production center; Sen. Charles Percy(R) was former CEO. Sen. Everett Dirckson (R) makes cameo. There are a number of shots of the Chicago skyline before Sears and Handcock. It would be interesting to know the whereabouts and current state of the films locations, especially the Monitor's HQ building.ReplyDelete
I was trying to locate the house that Terri lived in on the tv series Soul Food. I'm hoping in Chicago but where?
Hello!! Love your site! I have been trying for years to figure out where the exterior shots of the house for Mr Mom were shot - if it was a studio or a street. It looks like a street but I have had no luck finding anything except the house used for exterior's of Carolyn's boss' home in Pasadena, which is used in a lot of films. Any ideas there? FYI thank you for all your work doing this - I love reading these sites and I used to live in LA...it makes me really miss it. :)ReplyDelete
I would like to see the locations of the movie home & lodge from the movie "Blown Away" with Corey Haim, Corey Feldmen & Nicole EggertReplyDelete

Looking for a moody commercial parking garage to shoot in in LA or NYC area. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.ReplyDelete
Hey Chas, I was watching Wayne's World looking at the different locations on the web when i stumbled on your site. I looked at the movie Code of Silence. You don't have the location for inside the bar. The bar was Bunky's Place. I think the address is 2642 west Furllerton Chicago,IL. It closed down i think in the 90's. It was actually a Cop bar.ReplyDelete
This site is great Chas! I saw this house, 5401 Olympic in google and I can say that this is one of those houses that I look forward to see in movies. Can you make a review about it? Thank you in advance!ReplyDelete
I'd love to find out where the clothing store in Boogie Nights was filmed. You know, where Dirk bought his "imported Italian nylon" shirts.. It's an interior-only scene, and you can almost make out a street address across the street through the window... And I'm curious about other interior-only scenes: Amber legal hearing, the Colonel's jail cell, etc...ReplyDelete
Under your marvelously extensive "Gilmore Girls" section, you have the home used as the exterior of Richard and Emily's house from the pilot, but do you happen to know the location of the house exterior used in subsequent episodes? You don't see the full exterior very often, but we do see it in a few episodes, and I believe (unsubstantiated) that the close-ups of the front door, often used for establishing shots, are filmed at this secondary home. Thank you!ReplyDelete
Hello I have bad news. That whole home interior and exterior was all built on a soundstage at Warner Bros.Delete
Not sure if you've touched on this or if made for tv movies are not included, but have you researched In the Company of Darkness? It was made in 1993, I believe, and at least partly filmed in Riverside, IL just outside of Chicago.ReplyDelete
Do you ever do older films? There's a location in "M" (1951) I cannot findReplyDelete
In Mac And Me, what is the address to the grocery store that for blown up in the movie. I've heard it was an Albertsons parking lot, but I need to know the specific address.ReplyDelete
I will try to figure it out but it may be a while.Delete
The upcoming 2/9 episode (S4 E14) has a house fire at 93rd and Paxton. Is this a tribute to the 1993 Paxton hotel fire in Chicago? Note: fake street signs-not actual locatonReplyDelete
Sorry, the previous was in ref to Chicago FireReplyDelete
I was wondering if you'd consider adding "Early Edition" with Kyle Chandler to your list of shows. I watched them film scenes for one episode at Chestnut and Wabash, and McGinty's Bar is the old firehouse on Illinois and Franklin. The series has been posted on YouTube.ReplyDelete
Hello, I plan to do the show some day. I will probably just list the main locations. I have only seen the pilot. It will be a summer time project.Delete
Hey, Chas, here's a tough one for you:ReplyDelete
I've been trying to find the bank lobby in "Boogie Nights". The one where Buck is denied his loan for his stereo store. One source swears it was in Downtown L.A., another (a crew member, in fact) has no memory of shooting *anything* downtown.
I don't own the movie but when I have time I will get it from Netflix and see if I know it. I usually stay away from most interiors though.Delete
Here's a link to that scene: https://youtu.be/5o2Z5RJ7nuoReplyDelete
It's the interiors that are REALLY challenging! ;-)

I found where the grocery store and the gas station scene from Mac And Me was filmed. The grocery store is now the Kern County Human Services Department on 2340 State Highway 58 in Mojave, California. But the nearby gas station that got blown up in the movie was either a set or an actual gas station that was going to get demolished anyway.ReplyDelete
Hello , can you please tell me in what episode is the Nickys cary out in 3501 S. Western Blvd, Chicago? My father was the original owner , it has his name , a long time ago.ReplyDelete
Thank you in andvance! Alot of memories from that corner

I am available by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for your help
One film I didn't find here and would suggest you add is "The Kid Who Loved Christmas" (1990). I became aware of this film while riding a northbound bus in March of 1990 through the intersection of Broadway & Roscoe and spotting man-made snow piled outside of a single storefront on Roscoe where I learned later location shooting for the film had taken place. There was no other snow on the ground which made it stand out. I'd long been curious about this film but just got to watch for the first time this Christmas.
Hi, thank you for the suggestion. I will put this on the back burner and maybe try to do it this summer.Delete
Hello Chas and greetings from Germany!ReplyDelete
Always been obsessed with LA and would really like to know in which house they did the movie 'The Inviation'(2015).. I tried my best so far to find the location, even google earth since I know it's somewhere in the Hills. Maybe you already know it or can find out quickly.
you built a amazing website, thanks for your help :)

Andrew from Sydney
I have read your article. it is very informative and helpful for me.I admire the valuable information you offer in your articles. Thanks for posting it, againReplyDelete
We lived at a house in Sun Valley where both High Crimes and Evil Alien Conquerors were filmed. I don't think either one did well at the box office. For High Crimes, it's the house that Ashley Judd "rented" so she could investigate her husband's case. In EAC, I think it was Kenny's house where the guys hung out and plotted how they were going to take over the world. Although it has changed a lot over the years you can probably still recognize it. The address is 10145 Wealtha Ave., Sun Valley, CA 91352.ReplyDelete
Hello, love your site, can you please do filming locations for "Rad", "Thrashin" and/or "Gleaming the Cube"?ReplyDelete

I was watching Addam the Woos video where he showed where the scene when they were driving was filmed. It is Highway 27 corner of Martha berry street in Rome Ga. I was told that they were traveling up north on Martha Berry street about 12 miles and that apparently is where the farm is. If you could help me that would be Awesome! Thanks!ReplyDelete
