  3. Is this list strictly for the TV series or does it include the movie locations in Chicago as well? 2 Chicago Locations are missing. There was a scene where the little boy was bit by a rat in his parents apartment. That building still stands today, it was my parents apartment that was used in Uptown Chicago Windsor and Sheridan was the cross street. I believe the address is 911 w Windsor Ave as well as the location were the child received treatment for the rodent bite which was "Cuneo Hospital" which at a later time became Maryville, located on the corner of Montrose and Clarendon ave.

    1. Hi Mrs. Amour,
At the top of this page, there's a link to a map that has almost all of the Chicago filming locations for the series on it...the apartment you mention is a missing piece of the puzzle so thank you for commenting!

    1. They filmed at my grandparent's house in Evergreen Park, IL. 9101 S. Mozart. Great memories. I met a lot of the cast and crew. I also remember meeting Julia Roberts , Fred Savage ( I believe)and Judd Nelson , bit I'm not sure they were in the series.

  5. They filmed a scene in a restaurant called The Medici on Sheridan Rd, just north of Diversey where they rigged an explosion in the elevator shaft. Something went wrong and they blew out a wall in the restaurant. The story was on the 10pm news that night and the next day I walked by there. They were cleaning up in the restaurant, stacking bricks outside a door on the sidewalk. A couple years later, I spotted Dennis Farina in Hanley Dawson Cadillac on N. La Salle St. I went inside and talked to him. He was very nice, just a regular Chicago guy. RIP Dennis.

  6. The Orbit Room was a real bar, not a set created for filming. It wasn't quite as nice inside as depicted in the series but it was cool. Met a girlfriend there one night. Sadly they tore down that whole block on Broadway to build a little shopping center.

  9. Dumb question: Was the final shootout in the pilot filmed in Marshall Fields or Carson Pirie Scot?

    1. Neither, it's Wieboldt's (originally Mandel Bros.) on State. They did a bad remodel of the ground floors exterior in the 1970s. Wieboldt's was on it's last legs in the 1980s and all stores were closed by 1987.

    2. To add, I briefly worked at Wieboldt's circa 1980 and it was already a sinking ship. As business declined they would close floors and move merchandise to lower levels. I imagine they had plenty of room to shoot whatever/wherever they wanted in the store.

  11. My singing partner and I came upon them filming on Kedzie by Marquette Park in the middle of the night on the way home from a gig with our rock band. Still dressed in our performance gear. We parked the car in an alley and walked right onto the set. No one batted an eye. They must have thought we were extras by the way we were dressed. They probably thought - oh good, the hookers are here! Rock Star hookers! It was great.

  13. A crime story refers to a narrative, whether fictional or based on true events, best exam help that revolves around criminal activities, investigations, and their consequences. It typically focuses on the commission of illegal acts, such as murder, theft, fraud, kidnapping, or other offenses, and the subsequent efforts by law enforcement, detectives, or private individuals to solve the crimes and bring the perpetrators to justice.

  14. Does anyone know the identity of the tavern with the green barstools where Ray met Johnny to give him the cut for their first heist? I can't seem to find it anywhere. I thought it might be The Matchbook but the wife says 'No'. I'm from Chicago. Thx.

  16. I'm pretty sure I saw them filming exteriors for the scene at Jeep's Diner in the pilot. There were period cars around and people in 60s costumes walking in front of the windows. It was on the north side of Milwaukee Avenue just east of Ashland. Kinda in the middle of a short block. It was a Polish restaurant (Slotkowski's ? It started with an S and ended in ski) and the food was good. I worked at the Walgreen's across the street (southwest corner of Ashland & Milwaukee, 1224 Milwaukee) and when I went w/a co-worker to eat there one day she said it reminded her of a Salvation Army soup kitchen. She was right. LOL. I lived on Augusta Blvd and remember No Parking signs on my block due to filming of Crime Story.
