I might know the location of the basketball court, it think its clybourn park, on north clybourn between north and sheffield.

    1. It was. I used to go to the carwash with my grand father

  2. Dont forget when they run to the train station from the zoo, they somehow ran all the way up to the brown line station at Kimball & Lawrence, Chicago.

  3. Your article fail to mention one other location Providence St Mel 119 South Central Park Avenue on the westside.

  4. Preach's apartment was 939 Mohawk street looked it up on google earth it is abandoned now but it is still there.

  5. Were was the movie theater at

  6. The building that Cooley High was in, is the old Lane Tech; that moved out in the 30s for the new school at Addison & Western.

  7. The theater scenes were filmed at the Adelphi theater (since demolished) at the corner of Estes & Clark (southwest corner) We lived across the street at the time, and were watching the filming.

  8. It looks like Leroy is running south on larrabee

  9. The character named Stone (real name Rick Stone) still live and act in Chicago. Talked to him a few times after various theater plays.

  10. The CTA bus they jumped on the back of #388, was a 1963 GMC so it fit the time period of the film One bus from this series still exists today and is in the CTA historical collection.
