  1. Interior shots in Sunset Foods were also shot at the actual location. I was a bag boy at the time, and while I wasn't on screen, I was there when they were filming. John Hughes used to shop there.

    1. He's right, I actually bumped into Mr. Hughes there and dropped my jar of Ovaltine and he's like oh cool they have this here? I was like wth..with genius and just wonderful nice man. He's missed daily.

  2. The nightclub at the time was The Limelight (later became Excalibur). I was an extra on set during the filming of that scene.

  3. I remember when the Evanston Hospital did look like that back in the 80s. You drive past it now and you can believe its the same building.

  4. My wife and I just did a "She's Having a Baby" tour while in Chicago last month using the sites and photos from this webpage. We walked into the church and quoted some of the funny lines. We went by the house which is on a busy circle with lots of cars in the street. The houses around this house were in great shape and fun to see. The actual house needs work. Whoever owns the house now does not appear to realize its cinematic importance. Very sad. The train station is still there and fun to see. We went to the grocery store which has been moved but still near the original location I think. We went in and quoted lines about having to go see Dr. Stanky. The nightclub was closed down. If you are a fan of the movie, and you have about 4 hours to kill while in Chicago, it is worth the drive just to feel like you are part of it all.

  5. The house next door, 54 Salem Lane, is currently (6 November 2016) listed for sale. It has obviously been added onto and completely remodeled since the movie.

  6. Great tour - thanks. House looks excellent - must be new owners now. Neighbors walking dog also told us that all interiors in the neighborhood are charming.
