Welcome:

This website is a resource to help you find out where a host of movies and television shows were filmed. It also includes pictures that show you what the filming locations look like presently, so you can compare the location at the time of filming to what it looks like today.

All of the movies and television shows reviewed can be found by clicking on the proper category listed on the right-hand side of the page. New titles will be added after research has been completed on their locations. Some time later I will visit these locations and add pictures to show how they look today.

Most of the titles on these pages were filmed in the Chicago and Los Angeles areas.  I will be doing movies where the majority of the filming took place there.  If a movie had just a couple of scenes filmed in Los Angeles or Chicago but the majority of the movie was filmed somewhere else it may not be included on purpose.

At the bottom of each page, feel free to leave your comments or questions, or to let me know of a missing location. I have a blog that I add to a couple of times a year. Check it out if you are interested in reading about stories of me visiting filming locations.

I have a section where I have listed the important locations that have yet to be found Here.  Please take a look if you know the city of Chicago or Los Angeles pretty well as you may spot something I have yet to find and list.

I have an Its Filmed There page on Facebook, so if you want to receive updates go ahead and like the page there or follow @Itsfilmedthere on Twitter.

Thank you and enjoy,

Chas

  2. Next time you're in LA pay a visit to the central library, where they have outdated phone books. They won't look up listings over the phone so you have to be there. If you see the name of a business in a movie made in LA and it's an old movie, you can look it up there.

  3. For Breaking Away:

Moocher’s house was behind the Bluebird Night Club. The guys in the film pull into the alley between Restaurant Tallent and the Bluebird off of Walnut, go past the side of the Bluebird and stop at Moocher’s house. It is off the alley between Walnut and Washington. See link:

  5. I was the technical advisor for Breaking Away and was on the set every day except for 2 days. I would be happy to assist you. I live outside of Chicago.

  8. Great site. I am from the Chicago area and when I have friends in town to visit, this will be a great reference to show them something different as opposed to the usual tourist sites (Willis Tower, Navy Pier, John Hancock, etc)

  9. Do you know where the public pool scene in the movie Sandlot was filmed? Looks like an old place in Norwalk, Ca. Always wondered.

    1. The pool is not in Norwalk. If you want to see it, you'll need to head about 700 miles northeast. The “Valley Vista Park Community Pool” in "The Sandlot" is actually Lorin Farr Park Pool at 1691 Gramercy Ave. in Ogden, Utah.

    2. They went all the way to Utah to film a pool scene? I doubt it. Why when there's surely plenty of options in the greater LA area?

    3. Huh? The majority of "The Sandlot" was filmed in Utah. So why would they go all the way to California to film a pool scene? Just compare the pool I listed above to the one seen in the movie and you'll have your confirmation.
