    2. No, Krystal is next door. It's a carwash now. Go to street level view on google maps on a computer and search for other dates. You can see the old fireworks store in old pics.

  5. For some strange reason, this movie goes out its way to obscure signs. I really have to slow down the DVD on the computer to find street signs and names.

    The "Unusual" restaurant is Orsolini.

The only thing left of it is the fireplace (still around in 2021):

The motel is just east of the restaurant on the same side of the street slightly across from the CITGO gas station

  7. My friends and I met Ed O’Neil at Grandma’s Cafeteria in Hampshire while they were filming. I worked there while I was on college break, and we had to close down. We were watching them film by the gas pump and Ed O’Neil saw us and came over to talk to us. We told what colleges we were going to, and his last words were, “too bad I didn’t bring Christina with, huh?” We all laughed and we remember him as a nice, regular guy.

  8. I think Grandma’s was closed for two to three days. I remember coworkers talking about all the food they had brought in for the cast and crew to eat. I think it was during Christmas break 1990 that they filmed. You can see a Wendy’s at one point which is now a McDonalds. Also, when they are exiting I90 there at that intersection and right before they enter the Grandma’s truck stop, a bunch of nuns died in a car wreck there and now they have a traffic light.
