Hi! Do you know the location of the Vons they used for the interior? Great site!

    1. Sorry, but wrong...
The outside parking lot scenes were filmed at two different Vons locations. The drive up scene is in fact on Pass Av in Burbank. The two wheeled scene was filmed at 13730 Foothill Blvd in Sylmar. My brother was working there the night it was filmed. Go on Google street maps into the parking lot and see for yourselves. The main difference is the "liquor" sign has been removed.

    1. Do you know this for a fact? Do you have an address? Thanks

    2. I had two different crew members tell me this so I assume it is true. No clue which one though but one said they had yet to open the place so it has to be one that opened about the time the movie came out.

    1. I am not sure. I have little knowledge of Texas.

    2. This airport was the now-defunct Coronado Airport in Albuquerque. On Google Earth, you can still see what remains. Look at the southeast corner of I-25 and Tramway Road near the Sandia Resort and Casino. In operation from 1961 - 2001.

  4. Info on the Roadside dinner....The roadside cafe, with the beautiful valley in the background is on Hwy 150 (the road to Taos Ski Valley), Northeast of Taos, actually in Valdez/Arroyo Seco. It had been a gas station years ago, converted by film crew to 'cafe' for the movie. The valley in the background is the entrance to Taos Ski Valley. From the 80's movie rewind site.

    1. That was exactly where I thought it was. There is now a small adobe home (2016) at that location. Not sure when the house replaced the original building. Only location that is on the edge of the cliff on the north side of 150.

  5. I think that the Los Alamos Lab is the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The same lab was used Bruce Banner's lab in the 2005 movie "Hulk"

  6. Actually, the exterior Vons location is the Vons at 301 N Pass Ave, Burbank, CA 91505. You can see it pretty clearly in Google Street View. Although they raised the area where the Vons logo is, you can see the edge of the roof/building is virtually identical to how it was when this was filmed.

Also, if you take a screengrab from a little earlier in the exterior shot, then you'll see the sign for Sardo's, which is still right next to Vons.

I was watching Twins for the first time since I moved to theis area and I immediately recognized my Vons!

  7. They used the interior of the Vons/Pavillions on Via Verde in San Dimas. I know this because my friends and I watched the filming and managed to chat with Danny DeVito (nicest man!). Arnie wasn't as friendly but we managed to get an autograph as he was getting in his Porsche.

  8. I was able to get a tour of the carson sewer plant and a supervisor there took me to the all places it was filmed. He worked there when they filmed the movie.
