  2. Dustin Hoffman's office is in the tall administration building at UIC.

The scene where Harold arrives to see the author with the African American woman front desk person is at Riverside Plaza - either 120 S or 10 S.

    1. I didn't add this location yet but may some day if I ever get over to the UIC campus. It just has a private look to that place and thought they would not want people like me taking pictures there. Thanks for letting me know.

    3. Uic is completely public. Like if you wanted to hang out in one of the classrooms you could.
They wouldn't care at all if you walked around and took pictures

    4. Dustin's office is not in University Hall. His office is actually in Douglas Hall on the second floor. They shot there before the building was remodeled. The only scene that takes place in University Hall is the ending scene where Dustin tells Will the outcome of the story. Thats on the second floor at the Rebecca Port Cafe.

  5. While the apartment wrecked in the movie was a set the real apartment used in the other scenes is at 6350 N Ridgeway (at Devon Avenue) in Chicago. I live nearby and saw them filming, trucks and crew all around. Here' s a link to a pic. Love your site, nice work.

  8. Does anyone know what building is in the background when hes talking to the therapist?

  9. Thanks for the great work Chas! I think I have some location suggestions. The Linda Hunt therapist scene was probably shot at 111 W Jackson Blvd looking west. The bull ornamentation through the windows is on the Chicago Board of Trade Building across the courtyard. Also, Harold's IRS office is probably 357 S Wabash as I'm pretty sure that is the red CHA building we see in a couple of scenes.

  10. Hi! Is the last scene, when Harold is in the hospital, filmed with the Tribune Tower in the background?

  11. They scene of him watching a movie was filmed in the Logan theater near Logan Square. The lobby has pictures of Will Farrell with the owner of the theater when they filmed there.

  12. I was the Location Manager on this film. Very honored that you chose this to disect. It was a tough tough film to work on. 62 days on location out of 64 shooting days. Only two days were spent in a studio, for Harold's interior apartment and excavation the exterior apartment.
