    1. Yes, all the old buildings are completely gone in place of a brand new 16 story hospital and new women's and children's hospitals. :(

  7. Those anybody know the location when Lucy and her father where at a park? it was the flashback before the church scene. He was playing with her, and carried her on his shoulders.

  8. Hi everyone. Thank you for the information on the two locations. I am guessing the correct address of the house is 5545 and not 5543 but will confirm it when I go there soon for pictures. The church is correct and I bet it was fun to see your church featured in a great movie!!! The park location will probably be almost impossible unless a crew member lets me know where it was. When it comes to the Callaghan family home the address is correct that I have on the site. I confirmed it when I was there.

  9. Just checked and yes, its true what somebody commented previously, the address of the Callahan house is 303 East Elm Avenue, La Grange, IL

    https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ds=i&pq=313+East+Elm+Avenue.&cp=30&gs_id=1dg&xhr=t&q=313%20East%20Elm%20Avenue%2C%20La%20Grange&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&bpcl=35466521&biw=1280&bih=818&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=il

It seems that the other address mentioned here (203 8th Avenue, La Grange) is the intersection street. When I go to Chicago I plan in visiting some of the locations in this movie which is one of my faves :)

    1. Please stop the nonsense. Just because the front door is on Elm street does not make the address on that street. Take a look at my bottom picture as it has a 203 on it. Why would the house have that if the address was the 300 block of Elm Street. I am not blaming you but don't want this topic to gain momentum as it is just not true.

    2. address is 305 E. Elm St... as I am from southern California and location shoots happen so often(in my neighborhood and towns).. it is beyond uncomfortable ( and troublesome) at times for home owners and businesses. That being said, I agree to Let the "tourists" take a pic or 2 then head to the beach *wink wink* ....ps- *note to visitors* Leave a film/show location aka address as you found it (no trash) please..thank you*

  10. did notice one mistake. the scene where Lucy and Jerry are getting a hot dog, it says they are north of the Wabash Ave bridge and walking south. however, i think it's the opposite. in your first pic, you can see the Donnelly bldg (white framed bldg on Wacker which is on the south side of the river) in the background. in the movie, as they keep walking, you can clearly see the Marina City condo complex (round, corn cob-like buildings on the north side of the river) in the background meaning they have to be walking north over the Wabash bridge. from the perspective of the camera, if they were walking south, you'd see something in the area of the Michigan Ave bridge (Trump, Wrigley or Tribune bldg) in the background but instead the camera is facing west not east.

    1. Thank you for the info but what bridge is it? The ones I checked all have a different type of bridge compared to the movie unless the bridge has since been redone. My guess was around Lamont.

    2. It is the Willow Springs Road bridge over the Cal-Sag Canal, just west of Palos Hills.

    3. I would agree, l grew up la grange pk. The bridge looks as spooky as always, at night the limestone glows. Not far from German church road.

  12. What a joy! I thought I was only one in world who loves this movie so much, not only for the story but the familiar locations...I used to live on Logan and Washtenaw-beautiful old gray and brownstones and always wondered where Lucy lived, it looked so familiar, used to go to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church! This site is so nostalgic for me. Thanks everyone for info, just finished watching the movie, AGAIN!

  14. .017 ...the hospital chapel in the movie is actually the small weekday chapel at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the same church used for the Midnight Mass scene

  16. The address 203 8th Ave is completely correct as that is my house! The house faces Elm Ave. even though it should be facing 8th. Strange, but true. It is on the intersection of 8th and Elm, the address on the original post is correct:)

  17. I went to Mt. Carmel Academy when thia was filmed. The church and the chapel are definitely Mount Carmel. My best grade school friend was an extra as an altar server in the film.
