I lived at 509 Roscoe at that time. Then it was a slightly run-down rooming house, unusual for that neighborhood. There was a girl living in the basement and she would often receive Registered letters from her family in Bolivia. The mail for this house would be dropped in a box in the hallway, but in her case had to go inside for her to sign for it. The doorway to the basement was behind the inside stairway. In the movie the doorway was no longer there. Burnham & Co. The entrance was a 1917 renovation by Frederick Dinkelberg for O'Connor & Goldberg, and it's Ally Sheedy not Amy Madigan-I was confusing it with "Uncle Buck."EricVnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1194902449691728680.post-76785551949863012232014-01-15T17:00:18.356-05:002014-01-15T17:00:18.356-05:00The restaurant where Candy & Madigan have dinn...The restaurant where Candy & Madigan have dinner with O'Hara was filmed at 23 East Madison Street. Beautiful interior-it was a O'Connor & Goldberg shoe store in the 60s and a Rand McNally shop in the 80s. Google maps still shows the building as intact but I can't say if the interior is still the same.EricVnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1194902449691728680.post-60591003205006189722012-05-19T20:44:59.230-04:002012-05-19T20:44:59.230-04:00FYI: The Niles train station was also seen in &quo...FYI: The Niles train station was also seen in "Midnight Run," starring Robert DeNiro and Charles Grodin.Owenhttp://whenwriteiswrong.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.com
