  1. Banquet on a Bun was on Rush street. Here is a picture of the same location in 1985.

  3. It's the Baha'i Temple, not the Huge Dome.

  4. The scene with the Porsche was in fact at Belmont Harbor. I was there while filming that as well. They pushed out a car chasis only no engine and etc. I picked up Tom Cruise at Ohare Bagage claim, with no body else. I had no idea who he was at the time, I think it was his first movie. Rebbeca Demorney actually is a Chicago Native, and when that was filmed, I picked her up at her Old Town Apt, off of North Avenue. Funny looking at all the movies I was appart of during that era in the Limousine Industry. You are missing a few also. 1 being The Toughest Man in the World, with Mr. T! lol

  5. Yes the “huge dome” is the Baha’i temple for all various religions to come together and worship.

  6. Excellent info, thanks! It's Joel and Miles (Curtis Armstrong) coming out of the Drake however, not Joel and Barry (Bronson Pinchot).

  7. hi guys, first of all congrats 2 chas, great site, this movie meant a lot to me, and it is one of tom's 3 greatest movies for sure despite all the people that can only see a teen movie in it.I dont know if is something from past lives but definitely this place highland park make me the chills in a good way, it looks like I belong to this place or I should anyway, would be great living in there, what makes even strange is the fact that IM From Brazil, yes tottaly different place, anyway I really love this place ,from the movie specially the scene in the harbor with the porshe and that score playing minutes before the fall , chicago iluminated by those buildings, thats beautiful cinematography.

  8. Thanks for everyone's contribution this is a great site! Question! Does anyone know the building where they shot the interior of Lana's apt. looking down some Ave. with the egg in the window. Not from chicago and can't find it in google maps. Thanks!!!

  9. Lana's apt. interior scene morning in front of the window. Was shot at 548 south spring st. in L.A.!!!!!! Found it by accident watching old Toto music video filmed from the same roof. Notice there are 2 windows on the corner of the building, not one! I believe there was a wall covering the left window. If you look you can see that it isn't flat all the way across. However, later you can see light from behind the cabinet illuminating the wall behind Tom. But if you look at Guido's scene later. The cabinet is in the corner. It would seem to hard to make that whole wall Guido is facing a false one.

  13. Although this movie came out back in 1983, I've been a huge fan of Chicago since late 1987 when I was 14 back then.

    Greetings from Brazil!

  14. Amazing to see that Joel House is around the corner from Cameron's Ferrari Garage! I've been to Chicago twice but never been on Highland Park.

  17. Has anyone ever located the neighbor's house in the opening where the girl is taking a shower? It's not next door to the house on Linden. Thanks!

  18. Joel's house is also only a 2 minute drive from Jake Ryan's house in 16 Candles. Also same high school used for both.
