  1. Is that "reservoir" in the Newhall pass off the 5 freeway? That's the only place I've seen those water steps.

    1. Hi, I believe it is an apartment building of some kind. I took my picture in 2009 so I assume it is still there.

    2. Yes, it's still there. You can see it and the outside of the tunnel on Google maps.

  6. The mall is the Rodeo Collection, not Two Rodeo. Two Rodeo was built after this was filmed.

    1. Indeed. 2 Rodeo was built in 1990.

  7. Yes, that aqueduct certainly looks like the one just off of the east side of the 5 freeway near Santa Clarita.

  9. As someone else has mentioned, I'm 99% that aqueduct is the one next to the 5 fwy northbound, about 1 mile before the 14Fwy splits off from the 5 fwy. You can compare the above photo to the photos on Google Earth, it won't have changed at all really since this was filmed. This is about 2 miles northwest of Mission Hills, and a few miles south of Santa Clarita. I've passed this a couple thousand times over the last 20 years. The aqueduct is or was lit up a night, at least periodically, though I haven't seen that for a while.

  10. That's definitely the aqueduct off the 5 fwy (called "The Cascades" I believe). Below is a link to it from Google Maps. If you zoom out a little, you'll see the main aqueduct that zig zags down from north to south, which appears in the film at about 1:38:40 (on my version at least). That little plot of dirt/grass in the middle of the map I linked to, where the two sections of aqueduct meet up, is where Sam is digging the grave for Holly. In the next shot at about 1:39:50, you see Jake hiding behind the pipeline just to the left of the main aqueduct, with that small section of stair stepped aqueduct behind him.

Here's a link to the spot from Google Maps: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Mission+Hills,+Los+Angeles,+CA/@34.3225809,-118.4965267,159m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x80c2906a13719921:0x4f300544d5ad369c!8m2!3d34.2722582!4d-118.4688776

And here's a link to a picture of the spot from ground level, with an arrow marking where the grave is being dug: https://www.flickr.com/photos/84133360@N00/27280017654/in/dateposted-public/

  11. It's funny that I have parked at Rodeo Collection many times and each time I have wondered if it was the one from Body Double and finally decided to look. It just looks so much smaller in person that I wasn't quite sure. The lens they used in filming makes it look so much more expansive than it really is.

  12. Jake runs down to Tower Records in LA for the "All Night Video Sale" to get "Holly does Hollywood". At the Tower Video desk (Tower Video 8844 W Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069)...[used to be "The Classic Cat Strip Club" which they recreated for "AutoFocus"..the club itself was in a few moives]...address from my list Ghek Remembers Video Stores and their Employees in movies http://www.imdb.com/list/ls058196561/

  13. I found the real location for the "Relax" Frankie goes to Hollywood club scene and amazingly it was also used in the original Fright Night which is another location that's been a mystery until now. 7th and Union there is an old office building that's now the WSS Flagship store. The interior has been modified but the columns, staircase and balcony are still there. I'm going to go gown there today and check it out.

    1. I just read that the building burned in the 92 during the LA riots. A lot of the great details gone. Went over there a few hours ago and it's still worth checking out. There is a staircase I didn't find and I'm not sure if the pubic has any access to it. The "Relax" scene begins there and the Fright Night club scene ends in it with Dandrige taking Amy down it in the chaos. Personal mystery solved. I never knew if it was on a soundstage or not.
